I can only speak for myself, but the daily routine of bed, sofa, kitchen repeat is starting to get a little dull. I have personally been enjoying the hour of exercise a day, getting some much needed fresh air, and time away from the confines of home. However, as a social person, I am finding this time increasingly difficult, and my need to feel connected is at a peak.
Luckily, some of our favourite brands are trying to stay connected to us via social media and online, and ease a little bit of the lockdown induced boredom. From Champion’s DJ sets and Levi’s live music sessions to an easter egg hunt by Garbstore, give some of these a go, and see if you can find a little distraction. Some brands are currently offering some great discounts too, if you did want to cheer yourself up with a payday purchase.
Levi’s have been using Instagram live to encourage us all to #stayhome and stay connected by inviting the likes of Snoop Dogg and Kali Uchis to perform live sets from the comfort of their home. The live episodes air daily on @levis at 5.01pm (US time) and @levis_uk at 5.01pm (UK time) and includes a variety of sessions for fans to tune into, including musical performances, styling sessions, customisation workshops and more.
Similarly, Champion are also using the live feature on Instagram to keep us entertained. There is really something from everyone here. From boxing and yoga, to poetry sessions with Kai Isaiah Jamal, magic with Billy Menezes and of course, some live DJ sets to keep us uplifted. Follow @championeurope for updates and more information.
Couverture & The Garbstore have hidden 13 easter eggs on their website. Why not join the hunt and get some great discounts off your shopping basket. The perfect pre-easter treat. My suggestion would be a scented candle in your favourite scent, or some super-comfortable loungewear, let's make the most of being stuck at home!
At this difficult time, it’s great to see brands coming together for their communities. Kurt Geiger are hosting regular DJ sets on their Instagram live, as well as donating £100 gift cards to many critical workers in hospitals across the UK.Their #smallactsofkindness campaign encourages their staff and customers to help their local communites where possible, all while social distancing. Palmer//harding are donating 20% of every purchase the NHS Charities Covid-19 Urgent Appeal and both Juicy Couture and FILA are offering 40% off purchases to NHS staff, perfect for some post-work chill time. FILA have also launched a social challenge, encouraging their followers to create some fun and active content in their vintage FILA, in exchange for an all new season FILA goodie bag.
It’s clear that in times of crisis, a sense of community is really what gets us all through. LEWIS is encouraging all of our readers to stay connected so we would love to hear what you’d like so see on our social channels in the coming weeks. Reach us via Instagram.
